I opened John’s Tex Mex in the summer of 2006 stemming from dissatisfaction with my old job, a love of the Southwedge neighborhood and a love of Mexican inspired food. I wanted to make a restaurant that I would like to go to with an emphasis on good fresh food that was affordable, and vegetarian friendly. Our menu has grown and our beer selection has gotten better since then but we still pride ourselves on making food that we like are proud to serve. Our menu is not intended to be authentic Mexican, California-Mex or even Tex-Mex, but a combination of what we liked from all 3 with our own take on it. We appreciate the loyal support we have had over the years and hope that you continue to like what we’re doing here on South Avenue.
