How you Can Support a Better Rochester Transit System

On an average day in Rochester over 1.5 MILLION DOLLARS vanish from the local economy. That money isn’t being abducted by extraterrestrials – it’s what we voluntarily burn on gasoline.

We have the power to reinvest those dollars back into Rochester’s economy by using public transit as an alternative to driving whenever possible.

Ride RTS FREE All Day on October 20th with a ‘UFO’ Pin

RTS has kindly agreed to honor this pin as free fare on any RTS bus all day on October 20 only. Simply show it to your friendly RTS bus driver. Even if you’ve never used RTS before, now is the perfect time to give it a try – if only for one day.Take it to work, go shopping, or take a leisurely trip down the street to visit a friend.

Reconnect Rochester will be giving away these ‘UFO’ pins at area businesses all month long. Stop by the Swedge Shop at 732 South Ave to pick one up. Or you can get yours by mail. Visit http://RochesterVanishing.info to learn how.

About  Reconnect Rochester: Founded in 2010, Reconnect Rochester supports the expansion of Rochester New York’s transit services and facilities, including rail, into a truly multimodal transportation network. It is our goal to reconnect our community in ways that improve personal mobility, urban vitality, environmental sustainability, and economic development. Reconnect Rochester recognizes that our current transit system is not perfect. But we cannot improve it if we don’t use it.

Bravo! The worst part of Rochester is how it’s so automobile-centric. Massive waste of money, time, and resources, and definitely doesn’t contribute to the beauty of the city. I am excessively proud to say that I don’t own a car under my name, for the first time in years (sold mine recently). ^.^
