South Wedge Spirits & Wine is pleased to have Cliff Palmore of Winebow join us again to sample wines made from Italian grapes you may have never tried before. Winemaker Alberto Antonini is renown for producing assertive, robust wines. His latest label is Terre 2007 Negroamaro from Puglia. The grape Negroamaro literally translates to “Black Bitter”. Complex and intense with dark ruby fruits and spice, this wine makes Cab look like a wimp. We’ll also be sampling Vitiano, a blend of Vermentino and Verdicchio. The Vermentino grape lends crisp acicity, and the Verdicchio adds notes of toasted nuts and bread. The two blended together compliment one another beautifully. Cheers!
